How to use the Oxford Bus App

Ready to make the most of your journey? Our video tutorials walk you through everything from planning your route and tracking your bus, to unlocking local discounts and exploring Oxfordshire with ease.

You’ll need to creating an account on the Oxford Bus app to purchase and manage mobile tickets. It’s really straightforward though. Once you’ve downloaded the app, just head to the settings menu item, select create your account and confirm your email address.

By enabling travel alert push notifications, you’ll receive updates directly on your phone about any new interruptions affecting the routes and stops you’ve marked as favourites in the app. You’ll also be notified of any announcements impacting the entire network.

With a few clicks using our Journey Planner you can work out your daily commute, tomorrow’s trip to the shops or day out with friends or family.

Oxford Bus app users get access to exclusive discounts at selected local businesses across Oxfordshire. With just a few taps, you can browse current offers, discover where to find them, and plan your journey—all right from the app.

You can purchase tickets with your debit or credit card on the Oxford Bus app so there’s no need for cash. Mobile tickets are stored securely and ready to scan when you board. Just link your card to your account and you’re good to go.

With real-time tracking, you can watch your bus approach, so you know exactly when to leave your home. Just select your stop and then press Track Vehicles or Departures.

Using your ticket is easy. Just choose the one you need, tap â€˜Activate Ticket’, and you’re ready to go! Once activated, your ticket is valid for 30 minutes, so make sure to board within that time window.
